As far as I can see, there were only two things Irish about Patrick Leigh Fermor: firstly that he was christened Patrick and known as Paddy, and secondly that he served in the Irish Guards (which of course is a regiment in the British army.)
He was born in London, as was his father Sir Lewis Leigh Fermor.
